Bloodier than Blood

I have always a fascination for blood – human blood. I love to watch gore-saturated movies, my heart raced with excitement as I watched blood splaters or squirts as heavy metals plunged deep into the human body. I must have been a vampire in my past life. Cool huh? I must be Louis, Lestat, Dracula or Edward Cullen. Blood thirsty and good looking. Haha.

I used to be so afraid of blood too. Not until when I was ten years old and was rushed to the hospital after accidentally tripping myself with a barbecue stick. A huge man packed with muscles in his mid twenties entered the emergency room because of a motorcycle accident. He looked so tough, he even cursed at the nurses, then, after seeing blood flowed from his head, he screamed and collapsed. Men! Tough big guy. Hmmm, makes me wonder. After seeing that guy lost his senses, I vowed to conquer my fear of blood.

I've always wanted to be a nurse or a doctor. I wanna hold a scapel, clamp, suction, 10-blade and all those stuff they use for sutures or surgeries. I wanna cut someone open. I want to be like Dr. House. Am I sane or just out of my mind?, you guess. Fact is that, poverty sucks and I can't even go to med school. Pop goes my fantasy of wearing cute scrub caps and be the best neurosurgeon that has ever lived. So much for watching Grey's Anatomy.

Sport of My Life!

Basketball is absolutely my most favorite sport. When I was a kid, I dreamed of becoming a professional basketball player. My wish was to play in the NBA. I wanna be like Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant who plays really well. These are the two basketball players that I look up. We all know that they have brought a lot of championships to their teams already. This is the reason why I like them so much. They have the most graceful move ever that you will likely drool when watching them. Aside from that, they can shoot precisely to the hoop. Their buzzer beater moments are so amazing. I wonder how they do it but I guess it is a gift.

It is very unfortunate of me that I haven't get a chance to stand more than 6 feet and I'm not qualified to play in the NBA. However, I know that I can still be a basketball star in my own rights. To become a professional basketball player is not my destiny. I think I am just destined to watch those stars in their crazy hot flies. I really salute them. Yeah it's true, it is only in NBA where amazing happens.

The Essence of Being a Man

We have been created with a purpose and for a purpose. They say that men are pillars of the family. They are the ones that have a greater responsibility in making the family alive and well bonded. Mostly, men are doing all the hard works just to provide for their family needs. They are considered as the bread winner of the family. That's the essence of being a man, to be able to provide the needs of the family and be responsible in everything. Not only in the family, the man has also lots of responsibility in the society as they serve as the role model for the children.

A true gentleman knows how to take care of his family, his children and his wife. Being a responsible father is good as it depicts the true importance and purpose of being a man. It is not that easy after all but men are created for this purpose. To work hard, to be responsible, to supply the needs of the family and to be a good citizen of the country. Men are known for being strong. However, sometimes this becomes a very big misconception since men are not that strong all the time. It is very hard to stand strong amids everything without an inspiration or reason to go on. But hey, be a man. You all have what it takes.

Far Far Away!

It is not another fairy tale story but it is the story of my life. Living far away from your loved ones especially from your family is really difficult. You have to live on your own. Do things on your earn. Learn everything on your own. However, all of us will have to be independent in a certain phase of our life. We have to live without the help of our parents. I am away from my parents for more than six years now. I go home only once a year, every Christmas until New Year. When I was away from them, I miss them so much and I cry every single day every time I remember them.

I realized the value of giving importance to someone you love while they are still alive. I mean, we take them for granted sometimes without knowing that they are in our life for a purpose. We need to value them while there is still time. While they are still alive. Don't wait until tomorrow the loving words you can say today. Show them you love them and you care for them even if you are away. There is no distance in love. Love is our binding force.

Nothing is Permanent!

As the cliché goes, the only constant thing in this world is change. Indeed, no single creation in this world is permanent. Whether we like it or not, time will come that everything will change. Everything will pass. Green mountains will turn into a dry land. Young beauty will turn old. Beautiful buildings will fall and be shattered. No one will stay forever. Life can be compared to a vapor. Beautiful, yet perishable.

However, everything doesn’t end there. Life is not that useless because life is always good and beautiful. Yeah, change is constant but we could change for the better. We only have one life so we have to use it well. There are million ways on how to make our lives useful. Sing a song. Be happy. Help those who are in need. Work hard. Earn money. Make love. Life is as exciting as a roller coaster if only we know how to use it well. We have our freedom to do everything we want just to be happy.

Start to think now. Are you doing what is right? Are you in the right track? Remember, we can’t take back what we’ve done in the past but we could still straighten our path as we head to the future. It is in our hands. In our very hands. The future lies on us.

The World is Hot!

Yeah, the discussion in this article is as literal as the title itself. The world is hot. Not in a sense that I’m hot or you’re hotter than me but because of the unbearable heat that can instantly ruin our skin cells. What causes this over acting heat right now? Is this one of the signs of the nearing end of the world? Perhaps, most of the reasons we can give why this is happening is because of pollution or the thinning of our ozone layer, which in one way or another, very true.

If my memory serves me right, when I was still young, walking under the heat of the sun at around 9 in the morning is still healthy. Yet, today that is no longer the fact. It can now cause you skin problems or perhaps skin cancer. Is there still a way to preserve or restore back the ozone layer that we have slowly destroyed?

I am hoping that everything is not yet too late. What will happen to the next generation if this continues to happen? Is the world still beautiful for them? I know that it is not yet too late to change and restore back the ozone layer. Start by doing simple things. Learn to recycle and don’t burn plastics. Yeah, this sounds very simple and childish, yet, it can totally transform the world and make it once again a better place.

Music Gives Life to the Dead Soul!

Music in one way or another gives excitement and more meaning to our lives. For me, I consider music as my friend. Every time I'm alone and lonely, I just listen to my favorite compilation of music and it makes me feel better. It makes me smile. One of my favorite bands is the Owl City. I really love his (because it is a one man band, Adam Young) music. The lyrics are so poetic and it goes straight to your heart when you listen to it. The instrumentals are good and you will really be enlightened.

They say that the world is boring without music. Nowadays, lots of bands are making music that everyone can enjoy listening to. It has different genres so that everyone can have their choice of music. Music is one way of expressing oneself. Musicians create music as an output of their emotions. There are some singers who compose song when they are sad, heart broken, lonely, happy and in love. Best songs are those that talk about feelings. They say that these song stays forever. Make music and be happy. Sing a song when you are sad. Sing a song when you are lonely. Sing a song when you are in love. Music is the oxygen of the heart.
